Empowering lives through education- Taranjit Singh

I dream of a hopeful future and 2021 will be a year of turnaround and revival. That’s what Managing Director & owner of the JIS group Taranjit Singh feels. “We all know, 2020 was a devastating year but 2021 will be better than that in many respects. There was a sudden lockdown and people had no idea about it last March 2020. Now we understand, there will be no more lockdown and people know how to tackle it. Same applies for business. People who are careful about their businesses, will be able to manage the newly age situation.

JIS group runs 30 institutions, 140 programmes, which include Engineering Colleges, ITI and Polytechnic institutes. It also runs schools in various parts of Bengal.

Singh, who has a huge number of education institutes, medical colleges, engineering institutes, said, “We have witnessed a sea-change in the education sector. Students were initially not convinced how the learning will run. During lockdown, we have learnt a big lesson that digital mode of learning is the future mode. Digital systems of learning, which would have otherwise materialized after two decades, made us realize how beneficial it can be. Digital will be part of our lives and 30-40 per cent education everywhere will be imparted through digital mode. The government also took a proactive role last year. State government is providing gadgets and internet to students and necessary internet facilities will enhance the education.”

“Business for us will also change and we have to accept the new changes and there will be recovery. We can expect 2021 to be a better year of prosperity. College will act as a platform where students will do practical work while the theoretical knowledge can be exchanged through digital mode at home,” Taranjit Singh said.
